Sense and Sensibility and a Giveaway!

I just finished watching the movie LOL. I realized I follow the title pretty well. I don’t have much sense (rationality) when it comes to buying something that appeals to my sensibility (emotional capacity). In other words when I am shopping I am ruled my by emotions haha. I see something I like and my emotions take over and my mind is like money shmoney, who cares if you can’t buy groceries this week LOL. I want to share some of my recent “senseless” purchases ;) Although they all greatly please me!

new stuff 025

Since I have no sense and much sensibility and I buy things on whims I bought this little iron bird feeder! It was too cute to pass up. In the shop they had it filled with lavender! I am going to put some kind of potpourri in it eventually, probably a rose one :)

new stuff 027 I had a gift card to J.C. Penny, which I hadn’t been to in years, and this wooden shabby thing that was on sale for $3.99. And we all know I can’t pass up a sale LOL. I consider it a freebie since it was a gift card!

new stuff 028 I actually wanted a flower arrangement for a long time but I’m sure you all know they are expensive! this one was not bad. And it matched everything in my room perfectly. It really brightened up my room I highly recommend flowers in every room!

new stuff 030

This came from Michaels. It’s a little pedestal with a nest and eggs and some roses all underneath a dome. It was cute and guess what else…on sale! haha.

Pier 1 has these little bird domes too. They are pretty cute :) And this wasn’t even on sale! No sense in that purchase except for that I wanted it! LOL So there we go. Did I really need all of these things-no. But did I want them-yes! Do I love them-yes! Ok money well spent even if I live on ramen and popcorn until my next paycheck haha.

So there is an awesome giveaway going on at Everything Esty. It's a tassel from The Nesting Place. You should all really take a look it is so awesome! Love tassels!

All the best everyone! I hope my post appealed to your sensibilities :) hehe.

Good Morning Allison,

My kind of girl always looking for a sale! I think you did a wonderful job in your purchases....I have a little bird bath very similiar to yours and I put a little candle in it and surrounded it with sea glass that I bought at the dollar store. I love the domes at Pier One...I may have to check them out!
Have a spectacular day!

Oh, honey...we ALL do this very thing. Some have more restraint than others and, of course, over the years as our responsibilities grow (as in K.I.D.S.) we learn to corral some of those buying sprees..BUT..all these things you bought are really pretty ...and they make you happy...that's a GOOD thing!!

I love all your goodies!!! You did such a great job...everything looks so good together!!!

Who needs food?!!! I would much rather have something as pretty as all the lovelies you bought than all the food in the world;)!!! I have been told that I am an awful influence...I guess I just proved it!!!

Thank you so much for all your sweet comments...we La Jolla gals have to stick together!!!

I hope you have a great weekend!!!

OH MY GOSH! I just did the same exact thing yesterday. I went shopping and even though I knew I shouldn't...I just got everything that appealed to me..I mean..within reason. It was so much fun. I an adorable little pot of herbs..not real but so cute for my kitchen island..and the list goes on. I had SO much fun.
I love the things you bought. Every single one of them I would have bought in a heartbeat!
GOOD for you! You only go around once..well..actually, I don't believe that. But at least make every round a great one!
HUGS!

Well those are some seriously cute buys! Nothing wrong with Ramen and popcorn! The birds and nests and flowers are all so cute. Cloches are just so gorgeous. That is something I don't have, but then again, I really don't have room for anything (whereas you're just starting out, I'm at the other end of the spectrum... I've been collecting things for a long time! ha ha)... Happy nesting!... Donna @ An Enchanted Cottage
