Flea Market finds 2

I have always wanted a compote. I’ve seen them on so many blogs and they do the cutest things with them. So I set out to find one and did! At the Irvine Flea Market. Here it is :)

It’s not too tall :) It has a few scratches but I just love it :)

It has some little emblem in the middle.

So I took Taylor to Homegoods (YAY) to help him find something for his mom. When I had been there a week before they had the cutest spherical balls covered in paper roses. But silly me, I didn’t buy one. :( When we went back they were all gone! Except one! And it was on clearance!  Yay! I think it looks lovely in the compote :) It’s the perfect size.

I hope everyone had a wonderful Mother’s Day. Any other ideas for the compote? All the best!

Really? I loved that and thank you so much. I mean when you get an award that you want to pass it to me? Now see..just that you think of me is wonderful.
I really do love the awards Allison, but they make me a wreck. I was so torn for weeks before I finally did it. Just say you love me now and then..and I will be fine! LOL
The compote. Well...I found a woman who made the most adorable little faux cupcakes so I bought a few and use them on mine. I also have a cherry tart and a chocolate cake and just switch them out from time to time. They also make other things such a faux exquiste little candies. I have not bought those..but I have thought of it. It isn't always easy to find ones that are well done..that look real but I have seen some and they are gorgeous.
I also saw some cupcakes made out of chenille. SO cute.

Hi Allison,
I love all your flea market finds...the hankies, etc. you posted about yesterday and your pretty compote too! You can use that to elevate the status (literally and figuratively) of almost any collectible you have....set up a tiny vignette.....pile it high with your pretty hankies...use it to hold pretty soaps....the possibilities are endless! Have fun and a great night!

Hi Allison,
I don't know how I found your blog and I'm glad I did!
How about a hanky and then some "bling" on top..I agree the ideas are endless!!
I also LOVE hankies and have a good stash of them..LOL..and I try to pay a buck or less. I go to estate sales and find them there.
Maybe you'll come visit me...the door is always open!

I love your new, old compote!! :O)
It looks absolutely fabulous with the roses. So many things you can do...oh, I know, make some of those 3 ingredient Peanut Butter cookies for Taylor and fill a pretty bowl with them...and sit on your compote!! Now, Taylor will love this idea, I think!! haha..
No kidding, just 1 egg, 1 cup peanut butter, 1 cup sugar..mix and using a teaspoon, put on cookie sheet. Using a fork dipped in sugar (so it won't stick) press down on each cookie. Cook about 9 to 10 minutes in a 350 oven. I PROMISE, they are delicious.

Good morning,
I like your new peice. There are endless possibilities for it.
Of course you know i would put a bird nest on it. =0)

display ideas: any 'bunch' of like colored treasures. White or cream spools of thread, buttons, baby shoes, flower, lace, candle, frame, keys, a hanky. Throw a little old fashioned book in, or even just a cup and saucer.
Like your little vignette, only move it up onto your new piece, and maybe put a doily hanging over the edge.

You are very creative and you love beautiful things, so i know you will have a lot of ideas to display on it. Be sure to share them as you do.

OOOH! I could do some of those for the shop. I have a beautiful clear cake dish with glass over it, and lots of treasures to put in it!

Thanks for coming by. I'm blessed by each comment you leave.

blessings,
barbara jean

Love the compote! And love the roses ball. I have one too, I got it at TaiPan and have it hanging from a big candle stand in my entry.
I thought of you yesterday when I was at the flea market and happened upon some bun warmers! :)
Great photos for your post. It looks lovely!

Great compote! I searched all the second hand stores last Friday for anything in silver and found nothing. Lucky you, and the best part is that you bought the rose ball to put in it! IT looks FABULOUS!
