Recipe Exchange Thursday

Hello I am participating in Natalie's Recipe Exchange Thursday at Just A Gal blog! :)

image This recipe my boyfriends mom gave me which she got from someone at work :) It’s called Tangerine Salad. I thought a salad would be a good thing to share for Spring/Summer :) Here we go!

Tangerine Salad

1 small can Mandarin oranges

1 bag baby spinach

1 bag butter lettuce (also called Boston or Bib lettuce)

1/4-1/2 cup chopped (small not fine) red onion

1/2-3/4 cup chopped toasted walnuts (optional but really good lol)

Dressing

1 teaspoon paprika

1 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon minced red onion

1 teaspoon celery seed

1 teaspoon dry mustard

1/2 cup sugar

1 cup vegetable (salad) oil

1/2 cup white vinegar

Mix the salad part together, mix the dressing part and combine the two. It’s that easy :) It’s really sweet and tangy. We just love this salad :) We usually add other things to it like tomatoes lol. You can use other types of lettuce, I have, but it really tastes best with the butter lettuce. I hope you all have the opportunity to try it and that you like it :) All the best everyone!

Hi Allison,
My niece makes this same salad only she substitutes the walnuts for cashews. It is a delicious salad! Thanks for reminding me about it....I have to bring something to a picnic on Saturday.
