Tempting little painting

For months this pretty little vintage painting was tempting me to buy it! I thought it was too much money but after I got a hefty paycheck I gave into temptation lol. I just love it! Sorry about the one being a different color, the flash was off with the others lol.

prize 025 prize 027 prize 028 prize 026 Don’t you just love her outfit and hair! I know! She has so much attitude in her cute pink dress! Do you see why she was so tempting! Isn’t her hair amazing! LOL. I love it :) Do you see that smudge by her face? It’s like the left over stickyness from a price sticker! There wasn’t a sticker on it when I bought it, it already had that smudge, I bought it anyway. Do you think I could take it somewhere that could professionally clean it? I still love her despite her flaw LOL. All the best!

Morning, Alli! Oh, I love your new painting! I can see why you had to have her - she's beautiful! Look at that hair! It looks like ribbons! I'll bet someone could get that off for you! Maybe an antique photo restorer.
Be a sweetie,
Shelia ;)

She's beautiful!!! Try rubbing a dab of olive oil and see if that brings it off!!!
Have a good week Alli!

Ally, this is soooo cute! I can see why you just had to have it. Is it under glass? As far as the sticky stuff goes, if you a nice warm washcloth and a little gentle...very gentle scrubbing should dislodge the goo. As soon as you hit the canvas you'll know to stop so as not to remove any paint or patina. If this does happen you can always retouch with a little walnut ink in a matching shade:)

OH goodness! SHe is yummy!!!
I'm sure there is a place that can get the canvas cleaned. I can get a name if you need one. My girl friend has all kinds of very special art, but it might be kind of pricey.
Let me know!
Have a great day!

I'm glad you got her, she's in good hands now. Be careful trying to clean the smudge, even if its on glass. I recently messed up what I though was etched glass trying to clean sticker residue with Goo Be Gone. It turned the "etching" was was some type of prodcut glued to the glass and I wiped it right off!

She is beautiful in spite of the smudge..but I, like you, would want it removed. Surely there is someone out there that specializes in fixing old photo's, paintings etc. that can fix that. No matter..it is still pretty.
I would have bought her...yep...in a heartbeat!!

When I have been watching something for a long time, I never regret getting it. Think how sad you would be if on the day you decided to get it, it was already gone.

Hi Alli,
I see why you liked this paintng, it's beautiful. That is one of the things that bugs me, price stickers in stupid places. I never understand that. Put them where it doesn't matter!!!
Have a great week,
Rosemary

Hey Alli! Yes I lived in Forks until I was 10. My Dad and 2 of my Uncles were in the logging industry. When they started restricting logging, we had to move. Forks was built mainly to be a timber town. It really went in to a recession for 10-15 years but I think it's doing better. I didn't recognize any of the places from the movie, except the restaurant, but the names are all familiar. We used to go to La Push beach and Port Angeles (PA), which was the big city nearest to Forks. It was a hour away and I used to HATE the drive because for part of it you had to drive around a lake and they didn't have guard rails. The road was right next to the water, it used to scare me that we'd drive into the lake. I was devastated when we moved. I didn't want to leave my friends. I'm thinking the next 3 Twilight movies won't show much of Forks. The books tend to branch out a bit. Except for the woods. We had some next to our house we would play in for hours! Never saw a single Vampire though!

I think that's an excellent use of a paycheck! :-) I feel like the cost to restore it would be a lot...Not sure what the material is? If it's canvas I'd try the washcloth like Cindy recommended. If not, she's perfect as-is. I love that it adds to her vintage appeal. :-) But at the same time...I kinda wanna smack the person who stuck a price tag there! Ugh. What's wrong with people...
