Fancy Hat

My grandma went to some fancy hat event on the Queen Mary and had this hat made. She didn’t want it anymore and was just storing it and thought I might want it and of course I’d take it…I’m sentimental like that LOL. It’s quite darling! Inside there was also a Mardi Gras mask and a top hat that my grandpa wore to this party LOL.

It’s covered in quite a lot of stuff. LOL. Look a hatpin! hehe

There’s even a little flower on the underside so you can turn the brim up and see it.

It all came in this pretty hat box!

The lid of the box. So pretty!

A sweet surprise was opening it up and finding a hankie that my great grandmother had crocheted (or whatever it’s called) the rim in  the colors of the Italian flag!

After my grandma saw my post about the Disneyland hats she remembered hers and thought I might want it LOL. I don’t know what to do with it yet. I am keeping it in the hatbox for now. I hope you’re all having a nice week! All the best!

How sweet of her to give this to you - and the little hanky for you to cherish- I know that needlework done by my mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother is sort of a "connection", ya know? Have a great day!

I can't help it my brain just does this---so if you don't like my idea that is fine but I think it is an OH "Its So Very Cheri" cute idea. Here is what I would do with those hats. I would get some big frames and take the glass out. Get mat board but just for a solid surface behind (I would NOT have it cut into a mat)and I would display them in the frames. Where would I put them-in your hall bathroom. Instead of having a Mens Bathroom and a Ladies Bathroom, you are making it the Mens and Womens bathroom. I would make a little frame with the image of each hat (or you could do your boyfriend's or grandpa's picture with the top hat on and have either you or your Grandma with the hat on, and have it hung on the door. Above the picture or image of the hats I would have the word RESTROOM and then under each hat put the words MEN and WOMEN. I would do all the decor in the bathroom to go around the hat them.

Great hats..what would I do with them? Hmm display them but then I am more into function with look now just not display so I'd use them as shades to some cool lamps. I think they'd be awesome that way.

enjoy ~tammy

One thing you can do with those hats it to take your picture with them on! How cute that would be! I have missed you, Allison! I am going to try and catch up if I can!
Thank you so much for your sweet and encouraging words. I love you for that!
